PRP For Balding

The procedure of PRP for balding involves infusing your own blood into the balding area. The procedure does not pose any risk of transferable illnesses, but it does require several sessions over a period of time. Patients who choose this treatment will have to take different kinds of medicines for a period of time, including minoxidil, finasteride, and topical anabolics. The doctor will recommend the best course of treatment, based on your individual case.

The procedure has no downtime and requires no recovery. Patients should not take blood thinners within two weeks of the treatment. After the treatment, the scalp should be cleaned thoroughly and the patient should avoid applying chemicals or dye to the hair for 48 hours. Dr. George recommends a series of three treatments spaced one month apart, with a maintenance session every six to twelve months. The treatment does not affect hair growth and is completely safe, as long as the patient follows the protocol.

After PRP has been infused, the patient takes a warm shower for 48 hours. No medications are needed after the procedure. However, the patient should avoid dyes and chemical treatments on their hair for 48 hours after the treatment. After the initial treatment, patients should repeat the procedure every two to three weeks. After completing the treatment, the doctor will note the number of hair follicles and note if they’ve started to grow.
