Tamaris Is the New Pioneer in the Shoe Market

Tamaris, the European comfort brand, is expanding its operations in North America, and is targeting independent retailers with its fall ’21 collection. The brand features value-driven, built-in comfort with a fashion twist. The company debuted its new collection to buyers at Micam’s Americas Digital event this week, and will debut its new lines at Atlanta Shoe Market later this month. The company is targeting independent retailers, and will launch a dedicated U.S. e-commerce site in August.

The French Legacy Group has added Somiar to its portfolio, which already includes Clergerie, Avril Gau, and Violet Tomas. It is now employed 82 people in Alsace, and uses Goodyear welt and Norwegian stitching, which make for waterproof shoes that can be resoled many times. The company was founded in 1934 and is now owned by the French Legacy Group, which showcases French heritage and know-how. Its CEO, Pierre Heschung, will continue to be CEO, and he will continue to work with the brand to help it expand its presence in the world.
